Infrastructure diagnostic
A defensible decision before the deadline
Decide what to keep, what to move, and in what order
A renewal quote, end of support, or merger forces a choice before you have all the answers. In 5 to 10 days, Nuvelia compares options on your scope and delivers a reasoned recommendation: keep, change hypervisor, move part of the estate, or containerize.
The diagnostic is independent of whatever solution follows. Nuvelia does not sell licenses or operations: your MSP can keep the project and the run. If a pilot is recommended, its scope, success criteria, and responsibilities are defined before any build quote.
When a date forces the choice
- VMware or Broadcom renewal quoteRenew, change hypervisor, or move only part of the estate: the choice happens before you sign.
- End of supportA platform still in production reaches end of life. What to keep and what to exit is decided application by application.
- New IT leaderA CIO, digital director, or infrastructure lead arrives. Reviewing what exists comes before any project.
- Merger of two IT estatesTwo estates, two contracts, two teams. You need to say what stays on each side.
A scoped decision in 5 to 10 days
5–10 business days · fixed fee after scope validation
- A priority scope defined at kick-off
- Targeted interviews and review of available documents
- Options compared on the same criteria
- A recommendation, its conditions, and points to validate through a pilot
CIOs, digital directors, or infrastructure leads who must decide before a dated deadline
What this diagnostic is not
- An exhaustive audit of the entire IT estateScope is deliberately limited to deliver a decision in 5 to 10 days.
- An intrusive security assessmentNo scanning or penetration testing: the diagnostic relies on documents and interviews.
- A detailed migration architectureYou leave with a recommendation and a 90-day plan, not a build-ready technical design document.
- A pretext to push KubernetesKubernetes is one option alongside renewal, another hypervisor, and moving part of the estate.
Four deliverables
- Scope map — applications, data, dependencies, security, operations, and skills constraints
- Decision matrix — options compared on transition cost, risk, timeline, reversibility, and operational effort
- Reasoned recommendation — what stays, what moves, in what order, with assumptions and open points
- 90-day plan — immediate decisions, checks to run, and pilot scope if proof is needed
How the diagnostic runs
- Scope
Deadline, scope, constraints, and the decision expected.
- Establish facts
Targeted interviews, available documents, dependencies, and blockers.
- Compare
Status quo, renewal, hosting alternative to explore, partial move, or containerization.
- Decide
Executive readout, written recommendation, and 90-day plan.
Architecture before destination
Banking modernization trajectory
Context: Regulated programme migrating toward a stateless architecture.
Nuvelia role: Component and flow mapping, target architecture, S3 and Redis dependencies, Kubernetes environment split, security, and production rollout.
Outcome: Documented transformation path defensible to infra, security, and business teams.
Insurance IT convergence
Context: Two products to align on a common IT estate.
Nuvelia role: As-is mapping, target architecture, inter-application flows, and cutover trajectory.
Outcome: Decision on what remains from each side before any migration project.
Multi-cloud SaaS platform
Context: Inventory and optimization across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
Nuvelia role: Workload portability, GCP Landing Zone, IAM, Terraform, GitOps, secrets, and observability.
Outcome: Trajectory recommendation independent of the cloud provider retained.
Common questions
Does the diagnostic conclude with Kubernetes?
Not necessarily. Kubernetes is one option alongside renewal, another hypervisor, and moving part of the estate. The Kubernetes migration page describes what follows only if the recommendation leads there.
Who operates the platform afterwards?
Your team or your MSP. Nuvelia runs the diagnostic and can retain architecture ownership. Build and operations are assigned explicitly if a pilot is launched.
Do you analyze VMware or Broadcom contracts?
The diagnostic uses the deadline and economic data you provide to compare trajectories. It is neither a license audit nor contract negotiation.
Is this a migration quote?
No. The diagnostic is sold separately and does not commit you to Nuvelia for what follows. A pilot or build quote comes only after the decision.
What if renewal is already signed?
The 20-minute call checks that. If no useful decision remains, Nuvelia does not recommend starting the diagnostic.
How long does it take?
5 to 10 business days once scope is set. The preliminary call lasts 20 minutes.
What do you need to start?
An available decision-maker, two to four technical or business contacts, and existing documents on the scope. The diagnostic does not require a perfect inventory.
